History With A Twist
Fifteen years ago today, the Indianapolis Twisters played the first home game in their (brief, two-year) history in the Continental Indoor Soccer League. In front of 5,019 fans (one of the largest crowds they’d ever have), the Twisters nearly pulled out a thrilling win over the Washington Warthogs before falling 7-6 in overtime.
I was the Twisters’ radio announcer (and, later, their media relations guy) for their whole two-year run. It was a lot of fun. Bizarre, but a lot of fun.
